Chocolate Covered Caramel Apple Sticks

Autumn is here again and I have a few go to fun things I make to feel festive. A lot of it includes apples because pumpkins are overrated and not everyone likes pumpkin everything!

I made this last year for my husband and myself, it was fun doing it together because it's customisable and you can add fun toppings. It works great as a weekend family activity with the kids and plus point is your kids will eat some fruit too! It is a fun party recipe as well.

Ingredients

Chocolate Chips (melted)

Apples (sliced as shown in the picture)

Ice Cream Sticks

Cookie crumbs/biscuit crumbs (I used Marie because that’s what we love)

Caramel Sauce (store bought/homemade)

Instructions

Step 1. Slice the apples as shown in the picture

Step 2. Using a knife make a slit at the bottom of the apple slices so that you can stick the ice cream stick in to make a popsicle.

Step 3. Melt the chocolate chips in your microwave or in a double boiler.

Step 4. Dip the apple popsicle into the chocolate and coat it all over and place it on a plate lined with baking paper for the chocolate to harden.

Step 5. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle cookie/biscuit crumbs all over as well as some caramel sauce.

Step 6. Let the chocolate cool (harden) and you’re good to go.

I hope you try this recipe and share some of your favourite apple recipes with me as well on Instagram @buildingahoneycomb.
